I need to get a document designed and printed - where do I start?

First, Contact Melany at Maywood Design at melany@maywooddesign.com or 604.487.1597. Then:

    1. You provide Maywood with information on the document required, either by phone or email.
    2. Maywood provides you with an estimate of design time and cost.
    3. We work together to determine the format and the number of copies that will best meet your needs.
    4. Maywood provides 2 - 3 printing quotes.
    5. You decide on your preferred printing option. Bringing the printer on board early is a crucial step in the process.
    6. You either (a) provide Maywood with the text and graphics, or (b) describe what you require in the way of graphic design, eg., logo, illustration, etc.
    7. Maywood works on research, brainstorming and sketching of rough ideas.
    8. Maywood sends the rough draft(s) to you for review, usually via email.
    9. You provide editing and feedback (the file may go back and forth several times).
    10. Maywood creates the final file and sends it to the printer.
    11. The printer sends a proof of your document, which must be approved by you and sent back before the job can be printed.
    12. The printer sends the finished documents directly to you.

This whole process can take anywhere from a week to several weeks or months depending on the size of the job, so get started as early as possible!
